The WESTERN HORSE REGISTRY is a central registry for all Western Breed Horses ~ Paint Horse, Quarter Horse, Appaloosa and their derivatives (registered &/- foundation stock). EXCLUDING HYPP &/- HERDA positive or carrier horses.

The WESTERN HORSE REGISTRY is for all those people who breed Western Horses for Rodeo, Cutting, Reining, Campdrafting, Polo, Pleasure Riding, Pony Club, English Events.. etc; and are tired of the high charges involved with registering their horses. Then there are all those owners who have neglected to register their horses for one reason or another and now can't justify the expense and penalty fees to do it now. If you own an unregistered horse that has a distinct WESTERN HORSE conformation - it may be eligable for foundation registration, pending classification.

Unless you are showing at specific breed show's every other weekend, you do not see much return on your investment. The Western Horse Registry is a more economical option. This site also features an ONLINE STUD BOOK that will grow to include every horse in an individual horses pedigree, back as far as is possible to trace.

August 19, 2011

a LONG OVERDUE news update.

The way in which the industry has emraced the WHR has been overwhelming.
There was obviously a need for the services it is offering.

To date there have been 162 membership cards sent out (@ 18/08/2011), although, there are 283 actual members, as many are families and partnerships. There are complete clubs in some areas, who have chosen to join.

Next years show events are definately going to be a stand out, especially with the introduction of a few new ridden events.
Not 'new' as in 'we made them up'... new as in, American events not yet being included as a competitive show event by any association in the Australian Western Horse Industry.

Breeding season is definately here, we hope everyone gets exactally what they were hoping for when they bred their mares.
Remember - when chosing a stallion for your mare, look locally before going nationally. Breed to type and for yourself, don't lose sight of why decided to breed her in the first place.

There will be a new post out for members earliy next week so keep an eye out for that.
Enjoy your horses everyone ..:)
